كتاب Measurement and Evaluation in Psychology and Education fifth Edition
المؤلف: Robert Thorndike

It has been 36 years since two of us (R. L. Thorndike and E. P. Hagen) prepared the first edition of this book. During those years there have been major changes in educational theory and practice. Concern for the rights of all individuals without regard to color, gender, handicapping condition, or any number of other characteristics has become a central issue that has led to attempts to provide optimal educational experiences for all children. Society at large has been pressured to assure that everyone is given equal opportunity for access to higher education and to desirable employment. But even with these changes (and perhaps because of them), the need for objective, dependable information as the basis for making decisions remains. Tests provided much of that infor- mation in 1955, when the first edition was published, and they still remain an important source of information. The first four editions of this book have helped almost two generations of educators and psychologists develop the skills to use test information; this fifth edition is intended to continue providing that service.
